“We were looking for the next development stage of STRATIC. There was already a mature product, but we wanted to deliver a digital service. The goal was to use the most straightforward technology possible to take the lightweight luggage from STRATIC to the next level of innovation.

 

It quickly became evident that NFC technology was what could work in luggage but was still a complete novelty in the travel market.

 

The added value of this technology is that customers already know it. It is super easy to use, and most importantly, no batteries or radio tracking systems are necessary. All you need is your smartphone that you hold up to the case. Like with contactless payments, which almost everyone already knows.

 

With IMERO, we’ve found the perfect all-in-one solution: ready-to-use NFC chips equipped with performing, customizable. white-labelled web apps covering a wide range of use cases.”

The first series with the features are STRAW+ and LEATHER & MORE, soon followed by BENDIGO LIGHT+ and STRATIC LIGHT+. An absolute novelty on the suitcase market. In the future, all suitcase series will include a digital dimension.

“Each chip has a unique, unforgeable ID. It enables an authenticity certificate for the suitcase and a Lost&Found function. I enter my contact details, and in case of loss, the finder can contact me by email. More than 70% of our STRATIC CONNECT customers have registered for Lost&Found feature.

 

The digital dimension also includes a packing advisor, as well as all individual product data of the suitcase. In the future, customers will have their own service portal that directly visualizes all repair information.

During the expansion of the product range and services, STRATIC has also started a cooperation with the travel magazine Merian. The result is a special Merian suitcase with a digital dimension.

We also want to deliver customized content. The idea is that our customer arrives in Cairo, for example, holds her mobile phone to her suitcase and receives individual travel information. In other words, a travel guide digitally and individually included in her suitcase.”
